DISCUSSION RE CONFERENCE ROOM ON 3RD FLOOR COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BLDG, <br />COMMISSIONER LYONS STATED THAT WHILE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT <br />REPRESENTATIVE HERCULES KONTOULAS IS PRESENT HE WOULD LIKE TO BRING <br />UP THE MATTER OF THE CONFERENCE ROOM ON THE SECOND OR THIRD FLOOR OF <br />THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, HE NOTED THAT IT ONLY HAS ONE <br />DOOR, AND HE FELT IT WOULD BE WISE TO PUT A DOOR IN THE OTHER END OF <br />THE ROOM ALSO IN CASE WE EVER WANT TO DIVIDE THE CONFERENCE ROOM, <br />WHICH IS QUITE LARGE, IT COULD BE CHEAPLY DIVIDED BY A SLIDING PARTI- <br />TION, BUT YOU WOULD HAVE TO HAVE TWO EXITS, AND HE FELT NOW IS THE <br />TIME TO DO THIS, <br />MR. KONTOULAS STATED THAT THIS CONFERENCE ROOM IS LOCATED <br />ON THE THIRD FLOOR BETWEEN THE CREDIT UNION AND THE HOUSING OFFICE, <br />CHAIRMAN SIEBERT AGREED THAT THIS IS A GOOD SUGGESTION AND <br />SHOULD BE FOLLOWED UP. <br />REPORT ON STATUS OF GIFFORD SEWER PLANT <br />ENGINEER .JOHN ROBBINS OF THE JOINT VENTURE GAVE AN UPDATED <br />REPORT ON THE GIFFORD SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT AND INFORMED THE BOARD <br />THAT THE PRELIMINARY SOIL INVESTIGATION SHOWED ENOUGH VARIATION TO <br />WARRANT REQUESTING A SOIL SCIENTIST TO COME UP. WHEN THE SOIL SCIEN- <br />TIST IS AVAILABLE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO SHOW HIM IMMEDIATELY WHERE TO <br />DO THE TESTING, HE CONTINUED THAT IN THE MEANTIME, ATTORNEY COLLINS <br />AND HE WENT TO THE PROPERTY APPRAISERS OFFICE AND CHECKED OUT LANDS <br />IN THE AREA, AND HE ALSO WENT TO TALLAHASSEE AND UPDATED BILL BOSTWICK <br />OF THE DER AS TO THE POSSIBILITY OF ACQUIRING AN ALTERNATE SITE, <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS REPORTED THAT HE AND COMMISSIONER LYONS <br />MET WITH MR. GLICKMAN AND MR. KLEIN, THE OWNERS OF WHAT WE KNOW AS <br />THE ALAMEDA RANCH, WHICH CONTAINS THE 40 ACRES WE ARE INTERESTED IN. <br />THEY EXPRESSED DISAPPROVAL OF THE COUNTY TAKING PART OF THEIR LANDS <br />FOR THAT PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THEY RECOGNIZED THE COUNTY HAD THE RIGHT.- <br />BUT <br />IGHT, <br />BUT MADE IT CLEAR THEY WILL TAKE EVERY ACTION THEY CAN TO EXTRACT <br />THE HIGHEST PRICE POSSIBLE.
