September 4, 2007 <br />EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT <br />The Board of Commissioners of the Emergency Services District met at the County <br />Commission Chambers, 1801 27th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, September 4, 2007. <br />Present were Chairman Gary C. Wheeler, Vice Chair Sandra L. Bowden, Commissioners Wesley <br />S. Davis, Joseph E. Flescher, and Peter D. O'Bryan. Also present were County Administrator <br />Joseph A. Baird, Assistant County Attorney William DeBraal, and Deputy Clerk Leona Adair <br />Allen. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order at 11:15 a.m. <br />14.A.1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES — REGULAR MEETING OF .JULY 10, 2007 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner O'Bryan, SECONDED by <br />Chairman Wheeler, the Board unanimously approved the Minutes <br />of the Regular Meeting of July 10, 2007, as written. <br />14.A.2. EMERGENCY SERVICES PROGRESS REPORT <br />Director of Emergency Services John King reported that the months of June and July are <br />usually the slowest months of the year for emergency responses, and that during this time the <br />average emergency responses per day dipped below 100 calls within 24 hours. He noted that <br />because of the consolidation process, a number of employees became dual certified; fifteen had <br />received their paramedic certification and seven had received their State Firefighter license. <br />September 4, 2007 <br />E.S.D. <br />1 <br />
