He <br />gratefully recapped numerous improvements and projects within the County over the past few <br />years. <br />Victor Hart, 4639 34th Avenue, expressed concern over the population and the <br />movement of the fire stations. <br />Joe Ouellet, III, echoed the previous sentiments and concerns of the two speakers, and <br />was in support of Med-3 remaining in his community. <br />Reverend Kyle Gibson, 1570 5th Court, as a former law enforcement officer and fire <br />fighter, shared the importance of having emergency services in close proximity for senior <br />citizens, and hoped that the money for emergency services would be allocated into the budget. <br />Chairman Wheeler wanted to know how soon the station on 49th Street and 35th Avenue <br />would be on line. Administrator Baird told him that said applications for grant funding had been <br />applied for, and they should know by February 2008, if they received the funding. <br />Commissioner Davis voiced concern over the integrity of the facility that Med-3 is <br />occupying. <br />Chairman Wheeler felt it was very important to look at how they could best serve the <br />County as a whole. He said that consolidating would expand services, not reduce service to a <br />particular area. <br />Vice Chair Bowden said, "time is of the essence", and thought this should be the highest <br />of priorities, and that response times should always try to be improved upon. <br />September 4, 2007 <br />E.S.D. <br />4 <br />
