SWDD Petition Hearing for October 9, 2007, as <br />recommended in the memorandum of August 20, 2007. <br />14.B.3. CODISPOSAL OF CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION DEBRIS IN CLASS I <br />LANDFILL COMMINGLED WITH HOUSEHOLD WASTE <br />ON MOTION by Vice Chairman Bowden, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Flescher, the Board unanimously approved: <br />(1) Geosyntec's study recommendation, and instructed staff <br />to discontinue the separate disposal of C&D debris in an <br />unlined landfill, as soon as practical, and replace it with a <br />codisposal operation in a lined, Class I landfill commingled <br />with MSW; and (2) authorized the Chairman to sign the <br />Amendment to Work Order No. 04 in the amount of <br />$203,483.00, authorizing Geosyntec to integrate Cell 2 in the <br />design and permitting of the Class I landfill cell, as <br />recommended in the memorandum of July 16, 2007. <br />AMENDMENT ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />Commissioner O'Bryan wanted to know if the material from the demolition of the old <br />Administration Building would go into the landfill. The Director of the Solid Waste Disposal <br />District Himanshu Mehta, reported that it would. Commissioner O'Bryan asked if the material <br />would be suitable for an artificial reef in an attempt to keep it out of the landfill. Director Mehta <br />said they would need to evaluate it and get back to the Board with answers. <br />September 4, 2007 <br />S.W.D.D. <br />2 <br />
