COMMISSIONER DIVISION OF FORESTRY / COLLINS BUILDING / TALLAHASSEE 32304 <br />ANNUAL CFM REPORT TO COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />September 3, 1980 <br />As required under the provisions of the County Contract, Sections 589.28- <br />589.34 Florida Statutes, an annual report is submitted no later than <br />September 30 of each year to cover work undertaken during the previous <br />fiscal year. <br />As the Vero Beach/Indian River County Forester, I respectfully submit the <br />following report of the activities of the foresters in the Vero Beach/Indian <br />River County Project for the twelve month period ending July 1, 1979, to <br />June 30, 1980: <br />During the past fiscal year, there have been three foresters in the project. <br />I am the third, having started work February 29, 1980. Before my position <br />here, I was the Lee County Forester for approximately ten months. I hail <br />from Albany, New York, and received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Resource <br />Management from the College of Environmental Science & Forestry at Syracuse. <br />Over the past fiscal year, there have been 612 assists to individuals and <br />local governments involving 1,029 hours of the forester's recordable time. <br />I. Forest Management 1.2% <br />A. Forest Management Plans Prepared <br />5 assists 2 acres <br />B. Diagnosis or Reconnaissance Only <br />An assist that required a visit to the recipients property <br />that does not result in or is a part of a measured output <br />or accomplishment. <br />2 assist's 50 acres <br />C. Cut Pulpwood <br />1 assist <br />II. Fire Control .8% <br />A. Fire Control Activities <br />Assistance on a fire <br />4 assists <br />III. Forest Education 4% <br />A. Educational Curriculum Development <br />2 assists <br />B. Exhibits, Demonstrations, Speeches <br />12 assists 1,800 people attending <br />C.
