Administrator Baird requested the County provide a $100,000 match from the Park <br />Impact Fee Funds, towards the Indian River Land Trust Lagoon Greenway Project. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Davis, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Flescher, the Board unanimously approved <br />an appropriation of up to $100,000 in funds, as a match for <br />one or more Grant opportunities, with the County acting <br />as the applicant for the Grant Application. <br />12. CONSIDERATION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY'S SCHEDULE FOR <br />REVIEW/APPROVAL OF THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br />AGENCY'S UPCOMING RE VISIONS/MODERNIZAHON OF FLOOD <br />INSURANCE RATE MAPS IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />Environmental Planning and Code Enforcement Chief Roland DeBlois used a <br />PowerPoint Presentation (on file) to recap his Memorandum dated February 8, 2010, regarding <br />Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) updates and modernization of flood maps in <br />Indian River County. He provided background; identified the Special Flood Hazard Areas <br />(SFHAs) associated with the St. John's Marsh; the challenges of the current maps; the <br />importance and implications of properties being added or removed from flood zones; the vertical <br />datum conversion from NGVD29 to NAVD88; the tentative timeframes of the FEMA Flood <br />Map modernization process; and March/April 2010 being the effective date of the new flood <br />insurance rate maps. <br />18 <br />February 16, 2010 <br />
