The County Administrator may now grant a six-month <br />extension for a business owner to come into compliance while his/her business proceeds to open. <br />2. Permanent Variance — Some LDR requirements may not fit every corner of the <br />County, and at times, common sense needs to be used if it has to do with saving natural <br />vegetation around a site. Thus, a businessman may appear before the five -member County <br />Commission to request a variance from a particular facet of an LDR (not involving zoning, <br />health, safety, welfare), provided he/she has a functional equivalent. <br />Impact Fee Reduction: <br />A temporary suspension of five impact fees was implemented in March 2009. <br />Commissioner Davis invited the public to provide their input at the upcoming public hearing at <br />which the Board must vote on whether to renew the temporary suspension, which if approved, <br />would be for a twelve-month period. <br />Grow Existing Businesses and <br />High Priority for Targeting New Businesses and Industry: <br />Several businesses have taken advantage of the County's Job Grants Program, among <br />them eMindful, one of today's presenters (see Presentation 11). In order for businesses to <br />receive the Grant funds, they must meet in one year's time and pre-set criteria for job creation in <br />the community.
