CONSIDERATION OF ORDINANCE TO TEMPORARILY SUSPEND IMPOSITION <br />OF IMPACT FEES FOR FIRE/EMERGENCY SERVICES FACILITIES, <br />CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES, PUBLIC BUILDINGS, LAW ENFORCEMENT, <br />AND SOLID WASTE FACILITIES (LEGISLATIVE) <br />PROOF OF PUBLICATION OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR HEARING IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />Community Development Director Robert Keating provided background, conditions, and <br />analysis on the County -initiated request to temporarily extend for an additional one-year period, <br />the temporary impact fee suspension (which will expire on March 31, 2010), for fire/emergency <br />services facilities, correctional facilities, public buildings, law enforcement, and solid waste <br />facilities. He presented staff's recommendation for adoption of the proposed Ordinance, which <br />would provide the temporary impact fee suspension from the period of April 1, 2010 to March <br />31, 2011. <br />A brief discussion ensued, wherein several Commissioners expressed their support for the <br />temporary suspension. <br />The Chairman opened the Public Hearing. <br />Brian Carman, Indian River Neighborhood Association (IRNA), supported the <br />temporary impact fee suspension. <br />Caroline Corum made observations regarding the impacts of residential versus <br />commercial development, and wanted to see commercial fees lowered. <br />12 <br />March 16, 2010 <br />
