DeBraal - Deputy County Attorney <br />PA�1— <br />DATE: March 25, 2014 <br />SUBJECT: Resolution Canceling Taxes on Property Acquired by the City of <br />Fellsmere for Open Space and Drainage <br />The City of Fellsmere acquired the following property through a water lien <br />foreclosure suit, and the City has paid the 2013 taxes and redeemed all <br />outstanding tax certificates against the property with the Tax Collector: <br />1009 Booker Street, Fellsmere, FL 32948 <br />Tax Parcel leo. 31-37-00-00004-0060-00171.0 <br />Lot 171, Block 6, Hall, Carter and James Subdivision <br />Because the assessed value on the 2013 tax roll is below the amount that would <br />generate a pro rated 2014 tax amount, no pro rated taxes will be due from the <br />City for 2014. <br />The City's attorney has requested that the County cancel the ad valorem taxes <br />for 2014 and remove the property from the tax roll for ad valorem taxes for future <br />years.
