Objective 6 Upland Vegetation Communities has been revised to change the target <br />amount of upland land plant communities to be preserved from a minimum of 5,000 acres (as <br />presented in draft document at April 19, 2010 Joint Workshop) to 500 acres. <br />Director Keating noted that Policy 9.4, in Objective 9 Commercial Uses of Natural <br />Resources, pertains to the prohibition of planting host plants in development projects, and is also <br />found in Future Land Use Element -Chapter 2. The policy has been revised to rely on state <br />regulations and remove the requirement to have landowners remove dead citrus trees in groves. <br />He noted that in accordance with Commissioner Davis's request at the April 19, 2010 meeting, <br />he would be discussing this matter further, and would do so during his presentation on Chapter 2. <br />In Policy 10.8, under Objective 10 Soil Erosion, the requirement for new oceanfront <br />developments to hook up to public sewer, if available, has been eliminated. <br />There was no public comment on Chapter 8. <br />COASTAL MANAGEMENT ELEMENT - CHAPTER 9 <br />(Clerk's Note: Please refer to page 231 of the backup to view the following changes). <br />Under Objective 4 Beaches and Dunes, Policy 4.13, for all new oceanfront developments <br />to hook up to public sewer if available, was deleted. <br />There was no public comment on Chapter 9. <br />NATURAL GROUNDWATER AQUIFER RECHARGE <br />SUB -ELEMENT - CHAPTER 3D <br />(Clerk's Note: Please refer to page 231 of the backup to view the following changes). <br />17 <br />May 11, 2010 <br />
