12.H. RECREATION -NONE <br />12.1. PUBLIC WORKS <br />12.1.1. STAFF UPDATE — SECTOR 3 BEACH RENOURISHMENT PROJECT <br />Public Works Director Christopher Mora recapped staff's report (on file) to give the <br />Board the final Sector 3 Beach Renourishment Project update for this year. <br />Staff addressed comments and questions from the Board regarding Phase I and Phase II <br />of the project. <br />The Board directed staff to ensure that construction of Phase II could begin promptly on <br />November 1, 2010. <br />Chairman O'Bryan stated that prior to the construction of Phase II, he wished staff to <br />have a debriefing meeting to evaluate what was done correctly or incorrectly, and what lessons <br />were learned. He also wanted staff to get a letter from the Department of Environmental <br />Protection (DEP) affirming that the sand used by the County met DEP specifications. <br />12.1.2. WORK ORDER #1 7, APPLIED TECHNOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT INC., <br />SECTOR 7 BEACH RESTORATION POST -CONSTRUCTION MONITORING <br />(SUMMER 2010) <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Davis, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Flescher, the Board unanimously approved <br />and authorized the Chairman to execute Work Order No. <br />17, related to the Sector 7 Beach Restoration Project, to <br />the contract with Applied Technology and Management <br />26 <br />May 11, 2010 <br />
