There being no other speakers, the Chairman closed the Public Hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Davis, the Board unanimously approved <br />the Class B Certificate of Public Convenience and <br />Necessity be granted to Coastal Health Systems of <br />Brevard, Inc., to provide ALS/BLS Interfacility transports <br />originating from Indian River County. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Davis, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously directed <br />staff to bring to the Board, a review of Indian River <br />County Code, Chapter 304, Life Support and Wheelchair <br />Services, with more of an emphasis on qualification than <br />need. <br />There was a brief discussion on how the Ordinance should be addressed if an application <br />is received before the rewrite, and the qualification requirements of the licensing process. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Davis, the Board unanimously directed <br />staff to bring to the Board, an analysis that addresses the <br />pros and cons of ALS versus BLS Interfacility Transports, <br />and a cost benefit analysis. <br />The Chairman called a Break at 10:39 a.m. and reconvened the meeting at 10:51 a.m. <br />with all members present. <br />15 <br />May 4, 2010 <br />
