12.1.2. WORK ORDER NO. 10 COASTAL TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION INC. <br />SECTOR 3 BEACH RESTORATION PROJECT — PHASE 2 PRE - <br />CONSTRUCTION PHASE SERVICES <br />Public Works Director Christopher Mora used a PowerPoint Presentation (on file) to <br />update the Board on Work Order No. 10 with Coastal Technology Corporation, Inc. for pre - <br />construction services for Phase 2 of the Sector 3 Beach Restoration. He said that if the Work <br />Order is approved, Coastal Technology would prepare a Water Quality Variance Application, <br />which is a prerequisite for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) to issue a <br />Notice -to -Proceed for Phase 2. Director Mora thereafter presented staff's recommendation for <br />Board approval of Work Order No. 10. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Vice Chairman Solari, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Wheeler, to approve Work <br />Order No. 10 to the contract with Coastal Technology <br />Corporation, Inc. <br />Michael Walther, Engineer of Record/President Coastal Technology Resources, <br />responding to Chairman O'Bryan's query, calculated that the County would receive the FDEP's <br />Notice -to -Proceed by December 1, 2010. <br />Chairman O'Bryan sought and received confirmation from Mr. Walther that the Board <br />would receive frequent updates on the progress of the Notice -to -Proceed. <br />James Gray, County Coastal Engineer, addressing Commissioner Davis's question, <br />projected that Phase 2 of the Sector 3 Beach Restoration Project would commence around <br />November 15, 2010. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION, and by a 4-0 <br />vote (Commissioner Flescher absent), the Motion carried. <br />26 <br />September 7, 2010 <br />
