CHAIRMAN LYONS INFORMED THE BOARD THAT SINCE HE IS TAKING
ON THE JOB OF CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD, HE HAD INTENDED TO ASK THAT
COMMISSIONER FLETCHER BE NOMINATED FOR HIS SEAT ON THE REGIONAL
PLANNING COUNCIL. HE CONTINUED THAT HE WAS HOPING THAT ANYONE WHO
GETS ON THAT COUNCIL WOULD SERVE TWO YEARS BECAUSE HE BELIEVED IT
IS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE AND IT ALSO IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE
COUNTY TO BE WELL REPRESENTED, HE ASKED COMMISSIONER WODTKE IF HE
WOULD CONSIDER SERVING HIS SECOND YEAR ON THE COUNCIL BECAUSE THERE
IS A TREMENDOUS TURNOVER AND HE IS ALREADY FAMILIAR WITH IT.
COMMISSIONER WODTKE AGREED THAT HE WOULD BE HAPPY TO CONTINUE.
CHAIRMAN LYONS STATED THAT HE WOULD LIKE TO RESIGN FROM
HIS POSITION ON THE TREASURE COAST REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL. HE
NOTED THAT HE HAS BEEN ON IT THREE YEARS NOW - ONE YEAR AS MUNICIPAL
REPRESENTATIVE AND TWO YEARS AS A COUNTY REPRESENTATIVE; IN ADDITION,
LAST YEAR HE SERVED AS CHAIRMAN OF THE REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL.
CHAIRMAN LYONS FELT THIS IS AN EXPERIENCE THAT SHOULD BE SHARED AND
STATED THAT IF IT MET WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE BOARD, HE WOULD LIKE
TO HAVE COMMISSIONER FLETCHER REPLACE HIM WITH COMMISSIONER SCURLOCK
AS HIS ALTERNATE.
ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SCURLOCK, SECONDED BY COMMIS-
SIONER BIRD, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED RESOLUTION 80-122 DESIG-
NATING COMMISSIONER FLETCHER AS A REPRESENTATIVE TO THE TREASURE
COAST REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL WITH COMMISSIONER SCURLOCK AS HIS
ALTERNATE, AND COMMISSIONER WODTKE AS A REPRESENTATIVE WITH COMMIS-
SIONER BIRD AS HIS ALTERNATE.
CHAIRMAN LYONS NOTED THAT THE REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL
WILL HAVE AN INDOCTRINATION SESSION, AND HE HEARTILY RECOMMENDED
THAT THE NEW MEMBERS ATTEND,
13
NOV 181980
soi 5
