1 <br />f . <br />1 <br />1 <br />s <br />It was ordered that the Clerk prepare the form of the ballot, according to the <br />names of nominees so certified to be placed upon said ballot, and place thereon also <br />the severe) Constitutional amendments to be voted upon at said election and certified <br />by the :secretary of 'State, and that he forthwith have sufficient number of ballots <br />printed for the various election preeinets,for said election. <br />There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board <br />adjourned. <br />ATTEST <br />C,1 e r k. <br />Chairman <br />VEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 22nd 1930, <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, met at the Court <br />House in Vero Beach, at 200 O'clock P.M.Igednesday, October 22nd 1930, with the follow- <br />ing members of the Board present: Albert 0. Helseth, Chaimnan, J.D.Yongt.e; JX.LeBruce; <br />J.J.P.Hamilton and John H. Atkin. Also present were Miles Marren, Clerk and Clark S. <br />Rice, Sheriff. <br />The Chai muan announced the Special meeting was called for the purpose of con- <br />sidering a petition signed by qualified voters requesting the name of W'.P.Baileyr to be- <br />come a candidate at the General Election for the office of County Commissioner, District <br />#3. <br />It was moved ,by Commissioner J. W. LaBruce, that the petition be referred to the <br />Boards attorney for advice and that the Board act according to his instructions. Upon <br />being put to a vote the motion was carried. <br />The County Attorney having considered the petition and having ascertained the law <br />on the subject, rendered his opinion that W.P.Bailey is entitled to have his name placed <br />upon the official ballot as a Candidate for County Commissioner, District #39 at the <br />coming General Election. It was ordered, and the Clerk was instructed to add his name <br />to the ballot before having them same prepared. ' <br />The County Engineer was directed to deliver to the Federal Tick Eradication Board <br />have a 14 inch pipe to place in road ditch at gest side of Emerson Avenue at Oslo Road. <br />The 'Sheriff appeared before,the Board and requested the Commissioners to issue <br />Time Warrants to him for the amounts due him on fees arising and due him as such <br />officer. The Board's attorney advised that this could not, in his opinion be done. <br />After cfonsiderable discussion no action was taken. <br />The Board then adjourned to meet Friday,' October 31st 1930, at 2 P.M, <br />✓' <br />
