NOV 18 1990 <br />BOOK. 45:.PAtE Z3I <br />FORMER COMMISSIONER DEESON EXPRESSED HIS THANKS FOR HAVING <br />HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE ON THE BOARD AND GAVE THE NEW BOARD HIS <br />WARMEST REGARDS AND BEST WISHES. <br />FORMER COMMISSIONER LOY THEN CAME FORWARD TO MAKE A FEW <br />REMARKS AND TO PAY TRIBUTE TO THOSE WHO HAVE HELPED HER OVER THE <br />YEARS - THE CITIZENS FOR GIVING HER THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE - THE <br />ELECTED OFFICIALS WHO HAVE HELPED HER DURING THE LAST 12 YEARS <br />THE MEDIA FOR THEIR COOPERATION IN GIVING COMPLETE AND UNBIASED <br />COVERAGE TO COUNTY EVENTS - AND HER PERSONAL FAMILY AND BUSINESS <br />FAMILY, WITHOUT WHOSE HELP IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE FOR HER TO <br />PUT THE COUNTY FIRST DURING THE PAST 12 YEARS. SHE NOTED THAT COUNTY <br />GOVERNMENT IS ONLY AS STRONG AS THE DEMONSTRATED COOPERATION AND <br />MUTUAL RESPECT AMONG ALL OFFICIALS AND STATED THAT ONE OF THE JOYS <br />OF HER PAST 12 YEARS OF SERVICE ON THE BOARD WAS BEING ABLE TO WORK <br />WITH SUCH AN OUTSTANDING GROUP OF MEN, MISS LOY THEN COMPLIMENTED <br />COMMISSIONER WODTKE FOR HIS YEARS OF DEDICATION AND DEVOTION TO <br />SERVING THE PUBLIC, CHAIRMAN LYONS FOR HIS DEDICATION TO POSITIVE <br />ACTIONS, AND FORMER COMMISSIONER DEESON FOR BEING A VITAL PART OF THE <br />TEAM WITH HIS FINANCIAL ADVICE AND STRONG FAITH, WHICH SET AN EXAMPLE <br />FOR ALL, SHE ASKED MR. DEESON TO COME FORWARD AND PRESENTED HIM <br />WITH A BOOK, MISS LOY NEXT ASKED FORMER COMMISSIONER SIEBERT TO <br />COME FORWARD, COMMENTING WHAT A JOY IT HAD BEEN TO WORK WITH HIM <br />OVER THE YEARS AND ESPECIALLY TO SEE HIS LONG YEARS OF HARD WORK ON <br />CREATION OF THE FIRE DISTRICTS COME TO FRUITION, SHE PRESENTED <br />MR. SIEBERT WITH A SCRAPBOOK COMMEMORATING HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN <br />HIS YEARS ON THE BOARD. MISS LOY THEN EXPRESSED HER BEST WISHES <br />TO THE NEW COMMISSIONERS, NOTING THAT THEY NOW HAVE A TREMENDOUS <br />RESPONSIBILITY BEFORE THEM, AND SHE HOPED THAT THE FORMER COMMIS- <br />SIONERS HAVE HELPED PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE NEW MEMBERS TO MAKE <br />THEIR JOB MORE PRODUCTIVE AND REWARDING. <br />CHAIRMAN LYONS RECESSED THE MEETING BRIEFLY. <br />
