NOV 19 19 80 <br />BOOK 45 ?AGE 305 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80 - 127 <br />WHEREAS, the Governor and Cabinet for the State of <br />Florida are considering the acquisition of certain private <br />property within the State of Florida, protecting said <br />property for the public's interest, and <br />WHEREAS, within Indian River County, there lies <br />the Latt-Maxcy Tract, which is presently eighth on the <br />priority list, and <br />WHEREAS, the Latt-Maxcy property represents the top <br />priority of the Florida Fish and Game Commission and its <br />purchase will serve the environmental and water needs within <br />the Indian River County region, and <br />WHEREAS, there is a scarcity of public hunting and <br />fishing lands within this region, and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County favors the state budget- <br />ing approach of spending no more than $5,000,000.00 on each <br />project within the priority list, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, that the Governor <br />and Cabinet of the State of Florida are urged to: <br />(a) reinstate the Latt-Maxcy property to Number 3 <br />on the priority list. <br />(b) to limit spending per project to $5,000,000.00, <br />thereby providing for a greater number of acquisitions. <br />(c) recognize the needs of Indian River County and <br />the surrounding region as to the environmental, hunting <br />and fishing interests that would be served by said <br />acquisition. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Governor and Cabinet of <br />the State of Florida give priority to the recommendations of the <br />
