COMMISSIONER FLETCHER NOTED THAT THE PAINT WILL LAST FOR A <br />YEAR. HE FELT THE CREDIT FOR NOT PAINTING IS MINIMAL AND WE COULD <br />GET THE USE OF THE PAINT FOR A YEAR OR SO AND THEN COME BACK AND PUT <br />THE PANELING UP. <br />COMMISSIONER WODTKE STATED THAT HE WOULD LIKE TO LEAVE THE <br />PAINT IN AT THIS TIME AND POSSIBLY WHEN WE GET TO THE FINISHING STAGE, <br />WE COULD PUT IN A CHANGE ORDER TO DELETE THE PAINTING AND THEN DO <br />THE PANELING. <br />IN FURTHER DISCUSSION, IT WAS GENERALLY AGREED TO STAY WITH <br />CHANGE ORDER #4 AS PREVIOUSLY APPROVED. <br />THE BOARD THEN PROCEEDED TO INSPECT THE JURY ROOMS, HEARING <br />ROOMS, .JUDGES' OFFICES, ETC. THE SPECIFICATIONS CALL FOR THE FINISH <br />IS TO BE LEFT AS IS; THE CONTRACTOR ACTUALLY WOULD NOT EVEN BE <br />REQUIRED TO PATCH THE HOLES IN THE PLASTER. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE JURY ROOM WILL <br />BE USED BY SIX PEOPLE POSSIBLY TWICE OR THREE TIMES A WEEK - THERE <br />WILL BE VERY MINIMAL PUBLIC CONTACT. <br />MR. KONTOULAS STATED THAT HE WOULD RECOMMEND, IN ORDER TO <br />KEEP THE JUDGES HAPPY, THAT THE COURTROOMS BE PANELED AT THIS TIME, <br />BUT NOT THE OFFICES, SECRETARIAL AREA, ETC. <br />COMMISSIONER BIRD STATED THAT HE WOULD LIKE TO LOOK AT A <br />CHANGE ORDER SHOWING WHAT IT WOULD COST TO DO THE COURTROOMS AND THE <br />.JUDGES' OFFICES. HE INQUIRED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF USING SOME <br />KIND OF VINYL WALLPAPER IN THE SECRETARIAL AREA AS AN ALTERNATIVE. <br />ADMINISTRATOR NELSON COMMENTED THAT THIS IS ONE AREA WHERE <br />THE ARCHITECTS WENT ALONG WITH THE BOARD'S INSTRUCTIONS AND TRIED TO <br />KEEP COSTS DOWN. <br />MR. KONTOULAS STATED THAT DROPPED CEILINGS AND CARPET WILL <br />HELP ELIMINATE NOISE, BUT NOTED THAT IF WE GO WITH THE APPROVED <br />CEILINGS IN THE JUDGES' OFFICES, THEY WILL HAVE PLASTER CEILINGS AND <br />THE OLD EXISTING LIGHT FIXTURES, WHICH ARE DISCOLORED WITH AGE.
