MR. KONTOULAS EXPLAINED THAT THIS IS A RERUN OF A PREVIOUS <br />SUBMITTAL WE HAD FOR AN ELABORATE SYSTEM WHICH WOULD HAVE NECESSITATED <br />A THERMOSTAT IN EACH OFFICE AND WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE COSTLY. <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER FLETCHER, SECONDED BY COM- <br />MISSIONER BIRD, TO APPROVE CHANGE PROPOSAL #21 AS DISCUSSED AND ACCEPT <br />THE CREDIT OF '$647, MAKING A TOTAL PRICE OF $19,017.41. <br />DISCUSSION ENSUED ON THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE EXISTING <br />EQUIPMENT AND THAT WHICH IS PROPOSED AND THE CREDIT ALLOWED. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. IT WAS VOTED ON AND <br />CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. <br />MR. KONTOULAS NEXT DISCUSSED CHANGE PROPOSAL #24, NOTING <br />THAT THIS RESULTED FROM DELETION OF CHANGE PROPOSAL #16-B WHICH <br />INVOLVED PANELING THE ENTIRE CIRCUIT COURT AREA - COURTROOMS, .JUDGES' <br />OFFICES, HEARING ROOMS, SECRETARIAL AREA, ETC., - AND.DO TAINING <br />INSTEAD A COUNTER PROPOSAL ON PANELING JUST THE COURTROOMS UP TO A <br />HEIGHT OF 8'. MR. KONTOULAS STATED THAT THE PRICE FOR PANELING THE <br />COURTROOMS WOULD BE $6,965.57. <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER FLETCHER THAT CHANGE PROPOSAL <br />#24 BE DENIED, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER BIRD FOR PURPOSES OF DISCUSSION. <br />COMMISSIONER FLETCHER EXPLAINED THAT ON REVIEWING THE ABOVE <br />FIGURE, HE CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT IF WE WENT AHEAD WITH THE <br />PLAN AS NOW PROPOSED, FOR PAINTED WALLS AND BASEBOARD, AT NO ADDITIONAL <br />COST TO THE COUNTY, THAT WE COULD COME BACK AND DO THIS PANELING <br />THROUGH THE ADMINISTRATOR'S STAFF A LOT MORE ECONOMICALLY. HE NOTED <br />THAT PUTTING UP S' PANELING IS NOT A MAJOR OPERATION, AND HE FELT IT <br />COULD BE DONE WITHOUT ANY GREAT INTERRUPTION OF THE COURT'S OPERATION. <br />CHAIRMAN LYONS STATED THAT HE PERSONALLY BELIEVED THAT IN <br />THE LONG RUN THOSE WALLS SHOULD BE PANELED FROM THE STANDPOINT OF <br />MAINTENANCE AND ECONOMICS AND THAT OUR QUESTION IS THE CHEAPEST WAY <br />TO ACCOMPLISH THIS. HE ALSO FELT IT WOULD BE CHEAPER TO GO WITH THE <br />DRYWALL AND PAINT NOW AND PUT IN THE PANELING LATER. <br />MR. KONTOULAS AGREED, NOTING THAT UNDER THE CONTRACT WE <br />CAN OCCUPY ANY ROOMS THAT ARE COMPLETED. HE CONTINUED THAT WE ARE <br />SHOOTING TO OCCUPY AS MANY SPACES IN FEBRUARY AS WE CAN AND AS OF <br />DEC 311990 39 Boa 45 v5m <br />L- <br />
