ITEM #6 - SOUTH BEACH WATER LINE EXTENSION <br />PRELIMINARY COST ESTIMATES <br />Engineer's Proj. No. 6383-A <br />Status of the South Beach Water Line Extension Preliminary Cost <br />Estimates is as follows.: <br />--A,,meeting has been held with Mr. Hillman Goff of the City of Vero <br />Beach, and Gee and Jenson, representing the City of Vero Beach, <br />along with Mr. George Liner, County Utilities Director. The varia- <br />tions in pipe size requirements, which are presented in our last <br />Status Report, have been resolved. We are awaiting a letter from <br />the City of Vero Beach which will state the specific per capita <br />water consumption to be used for design. In addition, we will <br />revise the pipe size requirements and prepare cost estimates for <br />the required design. This report should be completed within five <br />days. We are currently obtaining information on the cost of aerial <br />photographs required for the design. We are prepared to begin final <br />design of this project upon approval by the Board of County Commis- <br />sioners. In addition, we will be preparing a list of the number of <br />existing and proposed living units within the project area for the <br />purpose of determining impact fees. Furthermore, the initial cost <br />of the preparation of our preliminary water system analysis will <br />require the full $1,500 which we estimated to the County. In order <br />to provide the information necessary to determine impact fees and <br />classifications o� existing and proposed living units and a rerun <br />of the computer analysis, additional fees will be required. There- <br />- fore, we request your authorization to proceed with the additional <br />items outlined above. We propose to bill the County on the basis <br />of actual manhours required to prepare the required data. We antic- <br />ipate the additional cost to approach approximately $1,200. <br />ADMINISTRATIVE NOTE <br />In regard to the information contained herein, the following authori- <br />zations are needed. <br />1. Authorize the Joint Venture to meet with EPA in Atlanta as soon <br />as possible to discuss the 201 Plan. <br />2.
