<br />Ordinance amending Chapter 17 of the Code
<br />�of Ordinances for Indian River County,
<br />fecl lea, entitled "Offenses and Miscellaneous -I
<br />Provisions," to add a new Section thereto to be
<br />numbered Section 17.4, to require persons
<br />dealing in precious metals, jewels and stones,
<br />such as gold, silver, platinum, diamonds,
<br />rubies, emeralds, sapphires, turquoise, jade,
<br />opals, amethyst, and pearls, to keep a record.
<br />of all purchases; providing guidelines for said
<br />records providing that said records shall be
<br />made available to law enforcement officers
<br />upon request; providing for a penalty;

<br />HAD A PROVISION MAKING THE OWNER OR OPERATOR OF A BUSINESS LIABLE
<br />FOR THE ACTS OF HIS EMPLOYEES OR AGENTS. HE SUMMARIZED THE CITY'S
<br />POSITION, NOTING THAT THERE ARE A NUMBER OF DEALERS WHO DO BUSINESS
