1.09 UNIT PRICE CHANGE ORDER <br />A. Content of Change Orders will be based on, either: <br />1. Engineer definition of the scope of the required changes. <br />2. Contractor's Proposal for a change, as recommended by Engineer. <br />3. Survey of completed work <br />B. The amount of the unit prices shall be: <br />1. Those stated in the Agreement. <br />2. Those mutually agreed upon between Owner and Contractor. <br />C. When quantities of each of the items affected by the Change Order can be <br />determined prior to start of the work: <br />1. Owner and Engineer will sign and date the Change Order as <br />authorization for Contractor to proceed with the changes. <br />2. Contractor shall sign and date the Change Order to indicate agreement <br />with the terms therein. <br />D. When quantities of the items cannot be determined prior to start of the work: <br />1. Engineer or Owner will issue a Change Order directing Contractor to <br />proceed with the change on the basis of unit prices, and will cite the <br />applicable unit prices. <br />2. At completion of the change, Engineer will determine the cost of such <br />work based on the unit prices and quantities used. <br />a• Contractor shall submit documentation to establish the number <br />of units of each item and any claims for a change in Contract <br />Time. <br />3. Engineer will sign and date a second Change Order to establish the <br />change in Contract Sum and in Contract Time. <br />4. Owner and Contractor will sign and date the second Change Order to <br />indicate their agreement with the terms therein. <br />1.10 TIME AND MATERIAL / FORCE ACCOUNT CHANGE ORDER / CONSTRUCTION <br />AUTHORIZATION <br />A. Engineer and owner will issue a Work Directive Change directing Contractor to <br />Proceed with the changes on a time -and -material / force account basis. <br />B. At completion of the change, Contractor shall submit itemized accounting and <br />supporting data as provided in the Article "Documentation of Proposals and <br />Claims" of this section. <br />C. Engineer will determine the allowable cost of such work, as provided in General <br />Conditions and Supplementary Condition. <br />01153-4 <br />
