As an alternative to item #6 above, other means can be utilized for the <br />control and discharge of the poly pigs used to clean a piping system. <br />These means can include: <br />a) Open discharge ports so located as to maintain control of the <br />discharged flow rate and effluent removed from the <br />the cleaning operations. system during <br />b) Existing or installed blow offs or drains or comparable piping <br />which can be safely utilized as a discharge point for this cleaning <br />Procedure and can accommodate the reduction capability of the <br />Poly pigs used. <br />NOTE: All of these methods should be done with a close adherence as <br />possible to items a, b, c, and d, of item #6 above. <br />9• The contractor shall maintain or provide during the entire course of <br />this cleaning procedure: <br />a) A consultant surveillance of the systems and immediately report to <br />the proper authority, any deviation from the established pigging and <br />cleaning procedures, any inline problems encountered or any <br />malfunctions of the system discovered, by the passage of the pi <br />through the system. gs <br />b) A record of the pigs, their sizes, styles and other pertinent <br />information which have been entered into the system and <br />subsequently retrieved. <br />10. The contractor must demonstrate to the satisfaction of the proper <br />authority(s) that this work will be performed by experienced and <br />knowledgeable supervision and personnel who have properly, safely <br />and effectively provided for the cleaning of comparable system in <br />other similar applications. These personnel will be required to <br />provide acceptable procedures prior to the work being initiated, that <br />will clearly illustrate they are capable and have the means on hand to <br />resolve potential or real problems that may occur with the cleaning <br />pigs in the system. The contractor shall provide evidence of <br />qualification by providing copies of his/her state certification or <br />license to perform such work as herein described. Contractor shall <br />Provide certificates of personnel that are trained and accredited to be <br />in compliance with OSHA 29, CFR 1910.120, Health and Safety <br />Training. Contractor will be required to provide insurance coverage's <br />as outlined in Division 0 and 1 of the contract documents. <br />02002-3 <br />
