Schumann, Jr. :vho on oath <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board <br />of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />says that he is Business Manager of the Vero Beach Press -Journal, a weekly newspacer published <br />County, Florida, will hold a public hearing on <br />at Vero Beach in Indian River County, Florida; that the attached copy of advertisement, being <br />June 3, 1981 at 11:00 A.M., in the City Council <br />Chambers in the Vero Beach City Hall, to <br />�A <br />consider the adoption of an <br />a <br />Ordinance amending Section. 25(r), Ap- <br />pendix A — Zoning, General Provisions, <br />Z��9. p� <br />Mining and Excavation, by providing for the <br />in the matter of �.t ( <br />regulation of land mining in Indian River <br />County; defining terms; establishing ob- <br />jectives and minimum procedures for permit j <br />applications and issuance; providing for en- <br />forcement and penalties for violations - <br />providing for limitation of liability of County <br />officials and employees; providing for <br />in the Court, was pub- <br />severability and providing an effective date. <br />PCF/ <br />If any person decides to appeal any decision <br />made on the above <br />lished in said newspaper in the issues of <br />matter, he will need a <br />record of the proceedings, and for such pur- <br />poses, he may need to insure that a verbatim <br />record of the proceedings is made, which <br />record includes the testimony in evidence on <br />which the appeal is based. <br />Affiant further says that the said Vero Beach Press -Journal is a newspaper published at <br />Board Of County Commissioners <br />Of Indian River County, Florida <br />Vero Beach, in said Indian River County, and that the said newspaper has heretofore <br />By: -s-Patrick B. RODIS, OF THE USGS, DEPARTMENT <br />OF INTERIOR, WOULD ALSO MAKE A PRESENTATION. ATTORNEY HOULIHAN THEN <br />RECOMMENDED THAT THE OLD ORDINANCE BE LEFT IN EFFECT FOR ONE YEAR <br />FOR THOSE PERSONS HAVING RENEWALS ON THEIR MINING PERMITS. <br />CHAIRMAN LYONS NOTED THAT THIS PROPOSED ORDINANCE CAME <br />ABOUT BECAUSE OF PROBLEMS THE COUNTY HAD WITH CERTAIN OPERATORS OVER <br />A PERIOI? OF TIME. -HE CONTINUED THAT A COMMITTEE WAS FORMED, HEADED <br />BY MAGGIE BOWMAN, A GREAT DEAL OF RESEARCH WAS DONE, AND THEY CAME UP <br />WITH THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE PROPOSED MINING ORDINANCE. <br />.
