RODIS, OF THE USGS, DEPARTMENT <br />OF INTERIOR, WOULD ALSO MAKE A PRESENTATION. ATTORNEY HOULIHAN THEN <br />RECOMMENDED THAT THE OLD ORDINANCE BE LEFT IN EFFECT FOR ONE YEAR <br />FOR THOSE PERSONS HAVING RENEWALS ON THEIR MINING PERMITS. <br />CHAIRMAN LYONS NOTED THAT THIS PROPOSED ORDINANCE CAME <br />ABOUT BECAUSE OF PROBLEMS THE COUNTY HAD WITH CERTAIN OPERATORS OVER <br />A PERIOI? OF TIME. -HE CONTINUED THAT A COMMITTEE WAS FORMED, HEADED <br />BY MAGGIE BOWMAN, A GREAT DEAL OF RESEARCH WAS DONE, AND THEY CAME UP <br />WITH THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE PROPOSED MINING ORDINANCE. <br />.
