PRE-BID MEETING March 25, 2010 (Questions, clarifications, corrections and changes): <br />On March 25, 2010 a Pre -Bid meeting was held at the Indian River County Public Works Department <br />Conference room. Comments were as follows: <br />Maintenance of Traffic: <br />All Driveways shall maintain access at all times during construction. <br />All side streets shall maintain access at all times during construction. <br />To maintain traffic to 2"d Street north of the bridge it is anticipated that a temporary paved by-pass road <br />will be required. The by-pass road shall be constructed with a minimum of 1 V4" of SP 9.5 Asphalt, and 6" <br />compacted coquina rock base with a cross slope of 2%. Proper drainage and pavement ride ability shall be <br />maintained by the Contractor throughout the duration of the temporary paved by-pass utilization. Proper <br />removal of the by-pass road shall be done by the Contractor. Taper lengths shall be designed to meet <br />FDOT minimum standards for thepostedspeed limit. An additional line item, Item 334-1-12C <br />TEMPORARY PAVEMENT @ 2 ° STREET, Lump Sum, was added to the Itemized Bid Schedule, Sheet <br />00310-3. <br />For the bridge construction, Old Dixie Highway at the South Relief Canal may be closed to traffic for a <br />period not to exceed 90 calendar days. All maintenance of traffic devices, proper detour signage and <br />advanced notification through the Traffic Division shall be in place prior to the road closure. <br />General items: <br />The Testing Lab for the project will be Dunkelberger Engineering and Testing, Inc. Testing will not be <br />included in the bid. It will be managed and paid for by the County. <br />The existing bridge slabs shall remain the property of the County. The County Road and Bridge Division <br />shall remove and transport the bridge slab sections to the Road and Bridge facility. The Contractor shall <br />coordinate this activity with the County. It is anticipated the bridge slab removal by the County is <br />anticipated to be one week or less in duration. This time shall be included in the 90 day Old Dixie <br />Highway road closure. <br />When practical, the Contractor shall preserve existing oak trees with in the construction area. <br />The City of Vero Beach Utilities (Electric) will construct a "Shoe Fly" around the bridge prior to <br />construction. The Contractor shall coordinate this activity with Indian River County and the City of Vero <br />Beach Utilities (Electric). <br />Geotechnical Data — Sub Surface Profiles for the Old Dixie Highway Bridge over the South Relief Canal is <br />shown on Sheet B7 of the bridge construction drawings. <br />The steel casing for AT&T duct banks for the three (3) conflict structures — The size will be determined by <br />the number of ducts required to be encased and to be determined by the contractor during construction. <br />The length is determined by the width of the conflict structures. <br />The County is not requiring the drainage system to be video, TV or laser profiled. <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />FAEngineeriiigl Capital Projects10205 Old Dixie Highway Bridge over the South ReliejCanaAADDENDUMSLIddendum W -doe <br />
