Event <br />A planned, non -emergency activity. ICS can be used as the management system <br />for a wide range of events, e.g., parades, concerts, or sporting events. <br />Exclusion Zone <br />That area immediately around the spill. That area where contamination does or <br />could occur. The innermost of the three zones of a hazardous materials site. <br />Special protection is required for all personnel while in this zone. <br />Exercise <br />A simulated accident or release set up to test emergency response methods and for <br />use as a training tool. <br />Extremely Hazardous Substances (EHS's) <br />A list of chemicals identified by EPA on the basis of toxicity, and listed under SARA <br />Title III. <br />Facilities <br />Defined for Section 302 of SARA Title III as all buildings, equipment, structures, and <br />other stationary items which are located on a single site or on contiguous or <br />adjacent sites and which are owned or operated by the same person (or by any <br />person which controls, is controlled by, or under common control with, such person). <br />For purposes of emergency release notification, the term includes motor vehicles, <br />rolling stock, and aircraft. <br />Facility Emergency Coordinator <br />Facility representative for each facility with an extremely hazardous substance <br />(EHS) in a quantity exceeding its threshold planning quantity (TPQ), who <br />participates in the emergency planning process. <br />Federal <br />Of or pertaining to the Federal Government of the United States of America. <br />xv <br />
