department radio positions will be staffed at the EOC by personnel from <br />those departments. County Communications will be assigned supporting <br />functions at the EOC, and volunteer organizations (Civil Air Patrol, etc.) <br />will provide staff for their respective operations at the EOC. <br />Direct communications between the Indian River County EOC and the <br />following organizations will be established and maintained with the: <br />Florida Division of Emergency Management regarding the local <br />situation and requests for state and federal support and resources; <br />2. Chemical facility where the release of hazardous materials is <br />occurring; <br />3. Local emergency response agencies by agency radio systems and <br />commercial telephone; <br />4. Medical facilities and ambulance services through the county's <br />Hospital/Emergency Ambulance Radio network; and <br />5. Federal agencies, through the State Division of Emergency <br />Management. <br />Telephone service within the EOC operations room will be established <br />and a log of incoming and outgoing messages will be maintained. <br />5.3 COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS <br />Any of the following systems may be used to communicate during a <br />hazardous materials emergency: <br />5.3.1 Sheriff's Radio (800 MHz trunked radio) and Inter -City <br />Police Radio (156.030 MHz) <br />This system is used for evacuation related messages <br />and to facilitate alert and warning of the general <br />public. <br />5.3.2 Intra -County Fire Radio (800 MHz trunked radio) and <br />Forestry Service Radio (159.330 MHz) <br />This system is used for search and rescue operations <br />and evacuation related messages. <br />Indian River County Emergency Plan for Hazardous Materials Page 37 <br />
