DEFINITIONS <br />29 CFR 19100-120 <br />29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1910.120 is the Hazardous Waste <br />operations and Emergency Response reference document as required by SARA. <br />This document covers employees involved in certain hazardous waste operations <br />and any emergency response to incidents involving hazardous situations. Federal <br />OSHA enforces this code. <br />Access Control Point <br />Acute <br />The point of entry and exit from the control zones. Regulates access to an from the <br />work areas. <br />Severe but of short duration. Acute health effects are those that occur immediately <br />after exposure to hazardous chemicals. <br />Agencv <br />A division of government with a specific function offering a particular kind of <br />assistance. In ICS, agencies are defined either as jurisdictional (having statutory <br />responsibility for incident management) or as assisting or cooperating (providing <br />resources or other assistance). <br />Agency Representative <br />A person assigned by a primary, assisting, or cooperating Federal, State, local, or <br />tribal government agency or private entity that has been delegated authority to <br />make decisions affecting that agency's or organization's participation in incident <br />management activities following appropriate consultation with the leadership of that <br />agency. <br />Ambient <br />Surrounding. Ambient temperatures are temperatures of the surrounding area (e.g., <br />air or water). <br />V <br />
