The Flooring Contractor shall verify in writing to the Owner, a minimum of thirty (30) days <br />prior to scheduled resilient flooring installation, the following substrate conditions: <br />1. Moisture: Maximum of 80% internal relative humidity tested in accordance with the <br />current ASTM F2170 or maximum of 5.0 lb Moisture Vapor Emission Rate tested in <br />accordance with the current ASTM F1869. <br />2. Alkalinity (ASTM F710): Between 7.0 - 10.0 pH. <br />3. Suitability of Substrate Surface: Ensure that substrate surface is sound, smooth and flat to <br />1/8 inch in 10 feet (3.2 nun in 3.1 m). <br />4. For substrate conditions that require additional preparation, Flooring Contractor shall <br />furnish Owner and General Contractor with written documentation detailing <br />noncompliance, proposed remediation, timing and cost. <br />C. Environmental Requirements/Conditions: In accordance with manufacturer's <br />recommendations. Areas to receive flooring shall be clean, fully enclosed, weathertight with <br />stable environmental conditions between 64 degrees F - 81 degrees F (18 - 27 degrees C) and <br />50% (* 10%) relative humidity. The flooring material shall be conditioned in the same manner. <br />D. Temperature Requirements: Maintain air temperature and relative humidity levels in spaces <br />where products will be installed for time period before, during and after installation as <br />recommended by manufacturer. <br />1. Temperature Conditions: Maintain 64 degrees F - 81 degrees F (18 - 27 degrees C) for 48 <br />hours before, during and continuously after installation. <br />2. Relative Humidity Conditions: Maintain 50% (± 10%) relative humidity for 48 hours <br />before, during and continuously after installation. <br />E. Close spaces to traffic during resilient flooring installation and for time period after installation <br />recommended in writing by the manufacturer. <br />1. No foot traffic for 24 hours after installation. <br />2. No point loads for 48 hours after installation. <br />3. Wait 5 days after installation before any wet maintenance is performed. <br />F. Install resilient flooring material and accessories after all other finishing operations, including <br />painting, have been completed. <br />1.08 WARRANTY <br />A. Project Warranty: Refer to Conditions of the Contract for project warranty provisions. <br />B. Manufacturer's Warranty: Submit manufacturer's Commercial Limited Wear Warranty for <br />Owner's acceptance.
