PRESENT WERE PATRICK B. LYONS, CHAIRMAN; <br />WILLIAM C. WODTKE, .JR., VICE CHAIRMAN; DICK BIRD; ALFRED GROVER <br />FLETCHER; AND DON C. SCURLOCK, SJR, ALSO PRESENT WERE NEIL A. NELSON, <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR; L. S. "Tommy" THOMAS, INTERGOVERNMENTAL <br />COORDINATOR; R. STEPHEN HOULIHAN, ASSISTANT ATTORNEY TO THE BOARD <br />OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS; .JEFFREY K. BARTON, FINANCE DIRECTOR; AND <br />JANICE CALDWELL, DEPUTY CLERK. <br />DEVELOPMENT ORDER - VILLAGE GREEN WEST & VILLAGE GREEN SOUTH <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCED THAT <br />IT WAS CALLED FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING THE DEVELOPMENT ORDER <br />REGARDING THE VILLAGE GREEN WEST AND VILLAGE GREEN SOUTH APPLICATION <br />FOR DEVELOPMENT APPROVAL, AS SUBMITTED BY FLORIDA ATLANTIC ASSOCIATES. <br />ATTORNEY HOULIHAN BRIEFLY REVIEWED THE PROPOSED RESOLUTION, <br />WHICH CONSTITUTES THE DEVELOPMENT ORDER. HE REFERRED TO THE SECOND <br />PAGE, UNDER CONCLUSIONS OF LAW, THAT WERE LEFT BLANK UNTIL THE BOARD <br />COULD AGAIN ADDRESS THE ITEMS REGARDING THE CHLORIDE CONTENT OF <br />THE WATER; THE FIRE STATION AND CIVIL DFFENSE; AND SIGNALIZATION <br />ON ROUTE 60, <br />COMMISSIONER SCURLOCK SPOKE OF THE CHLORIDES AND THE QUALITY <br />OF WATER IN THE AREA. <br />DISCUSSION FOLLOWED ABOUT DISCHARGING THE BRINE DIRECTLY <br />INTO THE CANAL; THIS WAY THERE WOULD BE LESS INTRUSION. <br />COMMISSIONER BIRD STATED THAT HE UNDERSTOOD THE LOGIC ABOUT <br />THE DISCHARGE OF THE BRINE INTO THE CANAL BUT APPARENTLY, THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATION HAD LOOKED AT IT BOTH WAYS <br />AND FOR SOME REASON THEY HAVE INDICATED THEY WANTED IT IN THE IMPOUND- <br />MENT AREA FIRST. <br />' <br />AUG 24 1961 Box r , <br />
