The only permitted use of the fixture as a raceway <br />would be for those fixtures approved by the Underwriters for that <br />purpose; with special raceways, and RH No. 12 wiring would be accep- <br />ted for additional circuits when installed according to this approval.. <br />Gas and oil burning equipment: Each unit shall be on <br />a separate circuit and be provided with a pilot light and switch <br />located near the entrance to the room where unit is installed. Min- <br />imum wire size No. 12 or larger. <br />(w) Swimming pools: All conduits, junction boxes, <br />reinforcing steel, filter pump equipment, lighting fixtures and <br />similar metallic equipment must be bonded together and connected to <br />a common ground. Metallic parts of ladders and diving boards must <br />also be grounded. All underwater pool lights must be of approved <br />low voltage type. <br />Section 28. Feeders. The carrying capacity of each feeder <br />or sub -feeder shall be based on the number of separate circuits which <br />it supplies, computed as follows: <br />(1) Overhead lighting circuits --assumed as having <br />1,000 watts per circuit for each 15 -amp. circuit. <br />(2) Convenience outlet circuits --assumed as having <br />1,000 watts per circuit. <br />(3) Non -itemized and heavy duty circuit --specified load <br />for which designed. <br />(4) Underground direct burial circuits shall be adequately <br />sleeved under slabs, sidewalks, roads, flower beds, <br />or when entering or leaving a building. <br />To the total of these three, such demand factors as permitted <br />by N. E. C. should be applied. <br />Section 29. Voltage Drop. The maximum allowable voltage <br />drop shall be as follows: <br />(1) Lighting --Mains and Feeders combined, 1% drop from <br />point of attachment to Service drops to point of distribution (panel) <br />for branch circuits. Branches, 2% from distribution panel to receivers. <br />(2) Power --Mains and feeders combined, 3% from point <br />of attachment to service drop, to distribution panel. Branches, 1% <br />from distribution point to receivers. <br />(3) Lighting and power combined --The maximum allowable <br />voltage Prop for lighting and power combined shall be 1% from point <br />of service entrance to final distribution point. Branches shall be in <br />accordance with the above allowable voltage drop. <br />Section 30. Appeals - Decisions of Board of Adjustments and <br />Appeals. Sections 112 and 114 of the Southern Standard Building Code, <br />adopted by reference in this ordinance as part of the Building Code, <br />are hereby adopted, as modified in the Building Code, and made a part <br />of this Electrical Code. <br />Section 31. Board of Adjustments and Appeals. The Board of <br />• Adjustments and Appeals appointed under the provisions of the Building <br />Code is hereby made the Board of Adjustments and Appeals of the Elect- <br />rical Code. <br />15.
