r <br />Section 3-18. Right to enter upon private property. <br />For purposes of discharging the duties imposed by this chapter, <br />including investigation of possible violations and for enforcing its provisions, <br />the animal control director, or the Sheriff or their impounding officers <br />are empowered to enter without authority of any court of competent juris- <br />diction upon any private property for the purpose of demanding that the <br />animal, or if applicable, the license tag of such animal be exhibited to <br />said officer. Further, said officer shall be empowered to enter into a <br />fenced enclosure to impound any animal known or suspected of biting or <br />scratching any person or animal infected with -or showing suspicious <br />symptoms of rabies. Provided, except as specifically enumerated herein <br />such officer shall not be empowered to enter a dwelling home or structure <br />or fenced enclosure without prior authority by a court of competent juris- <br />diction in order to carry out the provisions of this section. <br />This Ordinance shall become effective December 27, 1977. <br />
