ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />47 Ftq &07 <br />w ,� <br />BdOK <br />The proposed committee of 11 members will contain 5 voting members and 6 <br />technical members. <br />Other representatives a:ere considered, including the following: <br />a) One representative from the Indian River County Sheriffs D�_ <br />b) The City Engineer <br />c) The County Engineer <br />e) One representative of the public as appointed by the County <br />f) One representative of the City of Vero Beach Police Dept. <br />g) One representative from the Indian River Shores City Council <br />It is obvious that the committee can become too large. For this reason, the <br />staff is recommending only the eleven members previously listed. This structure <br />allows a good balance of elected officials or their appointed representative and <br />technical staff. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />It is recommended that an eleven (11) member Transportation Advisory Committee <br />be established consisting of the above representatives to make recommendations <br />to the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners concerning transportation <br />priorities. <br />There are no funding considerations to be addressed for this item. <br />CHAIRMAN LYONS FELT THIS COMMITTEE WOULD BE IN EXISTENCE <br />FOR YEARS, AND SUGGESTED THAT WHOEVER IS VICE CHAIRMAN COULD BE <br />CHAIRMAN OF THIS COMMITTEE <br />THE BOARD THEN DISCUSSED THE OTHER REPRESENTATIVES IN THE <br />NON—TECHNICAL COMPLEMENT <br />COMMISSIONER SCURLOCK ENVISIONED THAT THE COMMITTEE WOULD <br />DEVELOP A DATA BASE, AND ONCE THE DATA BASE WAS COLLECTED, PUBLIC <br />INPUT WOULD BE GATHERED, AND THEN A FINAL RECOMMENDATION WOULD COME <br />TO THE BOARDI <br />DISCUSSION FOLLOWED ABOUT FUNDING <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COM1,1ISSIONEP. LIRD, SECONDED BY COMMIS— <br />SIONER SCURLOCK, THAT THE BOARD FOLLOW THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE <br />ADMINISTRATOR REGARDING THE TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND <br />ADD TO THE TION—TECHNICAL COMPLEMENT; INDIAN RIVER SHORES TOWN u <br />COUNCIL, AND A MIEMBER AT LARGE; WITH THE INITIAL APPOINTMENT BEING <br />MADE FROM THE G I FFO RD ARCA <br />ORDERLY BASIS TO FIND ROAD PRIORITIES AND ONE OF THE PRIORITIES WAS <br />GOING TO BE 16TH STREET$ <br />28 <br />
