i <br />Cctober 13, 1931 <br />REVISED. 1981-82 GOALS <br />FCR THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY LIBRARY <br />1. To greativ increase the Association membership. <br />2. The Fund Raising Committee i. -Ill finalize several projects, <br />such as: - <br />a. A piano concert <br />b. "Flight Bridge" - a five-month program in,which each <br />player contributes money each time he or she plays. <br />c. "Authors' Night" - one or more programs at which prominent <br />authors will speak. <br />3. During one year's time, the Board wiil strive to employ a <br />librarian with a master's degree in Library Science and with <br />a specialty in public libraries. <br />1+. Augment public relations. <br />5• Concerning library cards, we will have a thorough review of <br />requirements for obtaining cards. <br />6. We will strive to achieve a better balance of the bock <br />collection so as to serve all of the citizens of the county. <br />7. Volunteers will be utilized for the delivery of books to <br />shut-ins and to the far reaches of the county. <br />8. Strive to increase the hours that the library is.open <br />and to increase tie hours of the bookmobile, especially in <br />the north end o1' the county. Hopefully this can be supported <br />through our fund raising. <br />9. The Board, in cooperation with, the County Planning Dept., <br />will begin to develop a long range plan along the lines sr ot:n <br />on page 36 of Dr. Summers' report. It -is hoped to begin this <br />year, if possible, v.ith the end in view of branches in the <br />Sebastian -Roseland area and the south county area.and perhaus <br />enlarging our present building. <br />10. Work to set up a special independent Library Taxing District. <br />11.
