interpretation of any provision of these fire prevention codes may <br />file an appeal of the interpretation of the code to the Indian <br />River County Building Code Board of Adjustments and Appeals by <br />filing a notice in writing of such apfeal with the Chairman of the <br />Board within fifteen (15) days of the rendering of the disputed <br />decision. <br />SECTION 7 <br />PENALTIES <br />Any violation of the provisions of these codes or the <br />interpretation of the fire chief shall be subject to punishment by <br />a fine not to exceed FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00), or by impris- <br />onment in County jail, not to exceed sixty (60) days, or by both <br />such fine and imprisonment. Each day a violation continues after <br />the violator has been notified to correct the violation by the <br />Fire Department shall constitute a separate offense. <br />SECTION 8 <br />INCORPORATION IN CODE <br />The provisions of this Ordinance shall be incorporated <br />into the County Code and the word "ordinance" may be changed to <br />"section", "article", or other appropriate word, and the sections <br />of this ordinance may be renumbered or relettered to accomplish <br />such intentions. <br />SECTION 9 <br />SEVERABILITY <br />If any section, part of a sentence, paragraph, phrase <br />or word of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitu- <br />tional, inoperative or void, such holdings shall not affect the <br />remaining portions of this Ordinance; and it shall be construed to <br />have been the legislative intent to pass the ordinance without <br />such unconstitutional, invalid or inoperative part. <br />EFFECTIVE DATE <br />The provisions of this ordinance shall become effective <br />upon receipt from the Florida Secretary of State of official <br />acknowledgment that this ordinance has been filed with the <br />Department of State. <br />-3- <br />
