rNOV4 1991. <br />8t70K 8 P'4 <br />This permit, in addition to current license tag or off-road vehicle registration decal <br />available from the Florida Game and Fresh ,rater F`_sh Co=ission, is required to be in <br />possession of operator at all times and shall be displayed upon request of any wildlife <br />officer of the Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission. The off-road vehicle registration <br />number shall be displayed on the hood or top of the vehicle in letters of contrasting <br />color at least one (1) foot in height and three-quarters of an inch in width and shall be <br />plainly visible from the air at all.times. <br />Tracked and wheeled off-road vehicles are termitted on the area only from November 14 <br />through January 10 and are permitted only in that portion of the area lying north of the <br />Fellsmere Grade (see map). <br />2. Hunters entering or exiting the area must do so at designated access points (see map). <br />3. The possession of loaded guns on days when hunting is not permitted or after designated <br />hunting hours is prohibited. <br />4. Guns and dogs allowed only during the open season established for the area. <br />5. Permanent camps are prohibited. Camping is allowed in designated campsites only and is <br />limited to tents, trailers and self-propelled vehicles (see map). <br />6. It is unlawful for any person to dump or place any garbage or refuse in the area. Take <br />it out with you when you leave, please. <br />7. Any camp, vehicle, boat, or other transportation device may be searched for illegal game <br />and/or fish while in, leaving or entering the Wildlife Management Area. <br />8. No person shall have any gun in manual possession while under the influence of alcohol or <br />drugs. <br />9. Cutting, molesting or defacing live or, standing dead trees, including cabbage palm, is <br />prohibited. <br />12. Children under the age of 16 must not be in possession of a firearm unless in the presence <br />of a supervising adult. <br />11. Fires are prohibited except at public campsites. Persons starting wild fires are liable <br />for prosecution. <br />12. Discharge of guns is prohibited on, from or across any public campsite. <br />13. No person shall take game or other wildlife from any conveyance having any structure more <br />than eight (8) feet in width including any swing -out seat, outrigger or other protrusion capable <br />of bearing the weight of a person when such structure shall be more than six (6) feet higher <br />than the lowest bottom surface of such conveyance. After January 1, 1982, no such conveyance <br />shall be powered by more than one (1) six -cylinder engine. Such engine shall be gasoline pow- <br />ered, not having more than two hundred fifty (-250) cubic inch displacement, be equipped with <br />not more than one (1) two -barrel carburetor, be muffled with a standard automotive muffling <br />device and shall not be modified to increase horsepower. No such conveyance, if equipped with <br />track, shall be equipped with a track less than sixteen (16) inches in width. Convevances <br />currently registered as required by Section 39-11.01, F.A.C., on January 1, 1982, shall be <br />exempt from the engine and track -width limitations herein, until January 1, 1986. <br />14. Permanent hunt tree stands are prohibited. <br />15. The St. Johns River Water Management District reserves the right to close the area to <br />public access in the event of severe drought, fire hazard, or flooding. <br />Public access to this area for public recreation, including hunting, fishing, camping and <br />non -consumptive use, is provided by the St. Johns River Water Management District.
