INDIAN <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 81-36 <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COVMISSIONEP.S OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that Section 24 of Indian River <br />County Ordinance 71-3 is hereby amended by adding the following <br />Paragraph (f) as follows: <br />(f) OFF-STREET PARKING - PAVEMENT TYPES <br />Off-street parking areas shall be constructed of <br />one of the following pavement types: <br />1. Flexible Pavement consisting of a subgrade, base <br />coarse, and asphalt surface coarse to be constructed <br />in accordance with the followinq (a) thru (e): <br />a) A six (6) inch thick homogenious subgrade mixed <br />and stabilized to a Florida Bearing Value (FBS'; <br />of 50 psi minimum and compacted to a minimum of <br />950 of maximum density (AASHTO T-180). <br />b) A six (6) inch thick limerock or cemented coquina <br />base compacted to a 95% maximum density (AASHTO T- <br />180) or a six (6) inch thick soil -cement base hav- <br />ing a minimum 7 day compressive strength of 300 <br />psi and compacted to 95% maximum density (using <br />PASHTO T-180). <br />c) A D.O.T. approved bituminous prime coat of grade <br />RC -70 or RC -250 applied from .10 to .35 gallons <br />per square yard. <br />d) A compacted 1 -inch thick D.O.T. Type II asphaltic <br />concrete surface course. <br />e) Testing of the above flexible pavement construc- <br />tion shall be by an independent testing laboratory <br />approved by the County Engineer. The number of <br />Modified Proctor (AASHTO T-180) tests for subgrade <br />and/or base work shall be one for each material <br />type. At least 2 FBV tests or one per 10,000 <br />sauare feet of pavement, whichever is greater, is <br />required. At least one in place density test for <br />every 10,000 square feet of pavement using ASTM D- <br />2167 (Rubber Balloon Method), Sand Cone Method, <br />
