2. Unenclosed Storage of trailers, cabers and boats; Restrictions in <br />ResidentialZoning Districts. <br />Recreational vehicles and boats may be stored on any lot. However, <br />any trailers, campers or boats as herein defined which are stored in <br />unenclosed areas in any single-family or two-family lot in any res- <br />idential zoning district shall meet the following standards: <br />a. Ownership of Recreational Vehicles and Boats; Authorized <br />Storage <br />Such storage shall be limited to vehicles owned by the occu- <br />pant(s) of the residence or the house guests of the occu- <br />pant(s). <br />b. Limitation on Number of Recreational Vehicles <br />Not more than one (1) recreational vehicle per dwelling unit <br />may be stored in an unenclosed area upon each site, except that <br />one (1) additional recreational vehicle per dwelling unit may <br />be parked on the property for a period not in excess of two (2) <br />weeks in any continuous time period or six (6) weeks in any <br />one-year period. <br />C. Limitation on Number of Boats <br />In addition, not more than one (1) boat per dwelling unit shall <br />be stored in an unenclosed area upon each site except that one <br />(1) additional boat per dwelling may be parked on the property <br />for a period not in excess of two (2) weeks in any continuous <br />time period or six (6) weeks in any one-year period; <br />d. Location of Unenclosed Storage Areas <br />Such storage shall not be located in any required.-front.or side <br />yard, or any easement. <br />e. Licensing <br />Recreational vehicles and boat trailers shall have a valid <br />motor vehicle license at all times. <br />f. Use Limitations <br />Recreational vehicles and boats shall not be used for office or <br />commercial purposes, nor for sleeping, housekeeping or living <br />quarters while so stored. <br />g. No Public Facilities Hook -Ups <br />No service facilities, such as water, sanitary, or electrical <br />connections shall be attached except a temporary electrical <br />extension connected to the vehicle for battery charging or to <br />facilitate repair is permitted. <br />h. Limitation on Length of Recreational Vehicles; Variances. <br />No recreational vehicle so stored shall be in excess of thir- <br />ty-two (32) feet in length provided that in the event of undue <br />hardship, petitions may be filed for a variance to this Ordi- <br />nance as to the length requirements of this Ordinance to the <br />Indian River County Board of Zoning Adjustment. The Board of <br />Zoning Adjustment, in its consideration of any such appeal, may <br />consider the size of the vehicle, the lot size in question and <br />the availability of adequate safeguards to protect the neigh- <br />borhood. <br />3.
