He hoped that before the Board would make a determination on any <br />project on our priority list, that the Board should have all of <br />its facts to present to the voters. Commissioner Bird felt the <br />Board should provide the funding for road systems for the County <br />but he certainly appreciated the offer from the Hospital Board, <br />and the sincerity that accompanied their offer. IIe affirmed that <br />he would like to see the County go through the permitting process. <br />Chairman Lyons thanked Mr. Sorensen for his presentation <br />and interest, but he was going to vote for the Motion to deny their <br />offer. He felt the Board was still facing strong opposition and <br />this might cost them more than the $17,000 for the permitting. <br />The Chairman felt that any permits that were obtained today would <br />not last forever. <br />Mr. Sorensen disagreed with the Chairman regarding the <br />length of time for the permits as there was an ability to renew the <br />permits. <br />The Chairman called for the question. It was voted on <br />and carried unanimously. <br />Commissioner Wodtke requested that an item be placed on <br />the next agenda for the Board to consider the continuation of <br />permitting for Indian River Boulevard. <br />Discussion followed along those lines. <br />Commissioner Scurlock stated that he planned to vote against <br />the building of Indian River Boulevard. <br />Commissioner Wodtke inquired if the Board felt they had <br />enough information to attach a figure to the project. <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt they did. He then referred <br />to a publication depicting road systems and various other data for <br />a neighboring county, which he thought was informative. <br />Discussion ensued about the engineers' fees. <br />DEC 2 1981 48 PACE 244 <br />21 <br />
