Wednesday, December 16, 1981 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, Florida, met in Regular Session at the City Hall <br />Council Chambers, 1053 20th Place, Vero Beach, Florida, on <br />Wednesday, December 16, 1981, at 8:30 o'clock A.M. Present <br />were Patrick B. Lyons, Chairman; William C. Wodtke, Jr., <br />Vice Chairman; Dick Bird; Alfred Grover Fletcher; and Don C. <br />Scurlock, Jr. Also present were Neil A. Nelson, County <br />Administrator; L. S. "Tommy" Thomas, Intergovernmental <br />Coordinator; George G. Collins, Jr., Attorney to the Board <br />of County Commissioners; Jeffrey K. Barton Finance Director; <br />and Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. <br />Attorney Collins led the Pledge of Allegiance to the <br />Flag, and Rabbi Richard Agler of Temple Beth Shalom gave the <br />invocation. <br />ADDITIONS TO AGENDA <br />Chairman Lyons reported that Rosemary Richey, <br />Supervisor of Elections, has an opportunity to buy some used <br />voting machines at a very favorable price, but.time is of <br />the essence, and he would like this item added to the <br />agenda. <br />On Motion by Commissioner Fletcher, seconded by <br />commissioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously agreed to add <br />the emergency item as requested by the Supervisor of <br />Elections. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The Chairman asked if there were any additions or <br />corrections to the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of October <br />21, 1981. <br />Commissioner Fletcher stated that on Page 3, the 3rd <br />line, the wording should be corrected to reflect that he was <br />not <br />approving the Minutes without reading them. <br />PEC -1619§1 <br />. <br />BOOK <br />P�cF31d <br />
