Building Ordinance continued <br />-6- <br />have been made and approved by the Building Official. -The Building <br />Official may also notify the person, firm or corporation furnishing <br />current to such wiring apparatus or fixture to disconnect the supply <br />wires and cut off the current from premises where such wiring ap- <br />paratus or fixture is located and such supply wire shall be dis- <br />connected and the current cut off until necessary repairs are made <br />and approved by the Building Official. <br />(10) Any person, firm or corporation failing or re- <br />fusing to comply with any of the previsions of this section shall <br />be guilty or a misdemeanor in the second degree and subject to fine <br />or imprisonment provided by law. <br />Section 14. Requirements Not Covered By Code. Any re- <br />quirement necessary for the safety of an existing or proposed elect- <br />rical wiring apparatus or equipment not specifically covered by.this <br />code shall be determined by the Building Official subject to appeal <br />to the Board of Adjustments and Appeals. <br />Section 15. Liability. Any officer,or employee, or member <br />of the Board of Adjustments and Appeals, charged with the enforcement <br />of any of the codes established by this ordinance, acting for the <br />applicable governing body in the discharge of his duties, shall not <br />thereby render himself liable personally for ordinary negligence, <br />and he is hereby relieved from all personal liability for ordinary <br />negligence for any damage that may occur to persons or property <br />as a result of any act required or permitted in the discharge of his <br />duties. Any suit brought against any officer or employee because <br />of such act performed by him in the enforcement of any provision of <br />such codes shall be defended by the County Attorney (referred to in <br />place of Department of Law) until the final termination of the pro- <br />ceedings. <br />Section 16. Permits. <br />(1) When Required. <br />(a) No electrical wiring, alterations or changes to <br />existing systems or the installation of electrical apparatus or equip- <br />ment for lights, heat, power or other uses or purposes within or attached <br />to any building or structure subject to this ordinance shall be under- <br />taken prior to the issuance of a permit therefor. <br />(b) Ordinary repairs to damaged or broken fixtures, <br />apparatus or equipment shall not require a permit. <br />(c) Where installation is commenced before a permit <br />is obtained, the Permit Fees shall be doubled. <br />(2) Form. Application for permit shall be made on a <br />form provided by the Building Official and shall be accompanied by the <br />fees set forth in the Schedule of Fees. The application shall be signed <br />by the owner or his authorized agent. <br />Section 17. Drawings and Specifications. Whenever, in the <br />opinion of the Building Official, drawings and specifications are needed <br />to show definitely the nature and character of the -work for which the <br />application is made, the applicant shall furnish such drawings and <br />specifications. These drawings and specifications shall be drawn to <br />scale and submitted in duplicate. If approved, one set shall be re- <br />turned to the applicant marked approved, and one set shall be retained <br />and filed as a permanent record in the office of the Building Official. <br />The applicant's approved set shall remain at all times on the job. Such <br />information or drawings and specifications shall be specific, and this <br />code shall not be cited as a whole or in part, nor shall the term "legal" <br />or its equivalent be used as a substitute for specific information. <br />
