-I <br />JAN <br />61992 <br />8o <br />48 <br />FA;F515 <br />RELATIONSHIP <br />OF THE LAND USE ELEMENT TO EXISTING <br />USES <br />GENERAL POLICIES <br />It is not the intent of the Board of County <br />Commissioners to create non -conforming uses by the adoption <br />of the Plan. All lawful, conforming uses in existence at <br />the date of Plan adoption shall be considered consistent <br />with the Plan. Where appropriate, these uses will be <br />assigned zoning classifications consistent with the existing <br />use. Projects that have received site plan or subdivision <br />approval at the date of adoption of this Plan shall be <br />considered in conformity with the Plan. Projects which have <br />been developed in phases by a single developer on contiguous <br />property which have received subdivision or site plan <br />approval at the date of adoption of this plan shall be <br />considered in conformity with the Plan. <br />TRANSITION POLICY <br />Applications for rezonings, site plan or subdivision <br />approval which have been submitted to the Planning <br />Department prior to the adoption of this Plan, and which <br />have been certified as complete, shall remain active for a <br />period of sixty days from the date of adoption. If the <br />application has not been acted upon within this 60 day <br />transition period, the applicant may request the Board of <br />County Commissioners to extend the transition period of the <br />project for a period of 60 days. These transition petitions <br />shall be evaluated separately under the 1975 and 1982 <br />Comprehensive Plans and may be approved if adjudged <br />compatible with either. Such approval shall be considered <br />to be in conformance with this Plan. <br />3 M <br />
