would be the appropriate time for the opposing sides to <br />express their views. <br />Commissioner Lyons commented that this property is <br />contiguous to two kinds of zoning, and he thought it was <br />possible to leave it in LD -2. <br />Discussion followed. <br />Chairman Scurlock stated that it was the <br />concurrence of the Board to leave it at LD -2. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Fletcher, seconded <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, that the Board redesignate the <br />zoning from LD -2 to LD -1, because of the impact the <br />designation would have on the surrounding homeowners. <br />Commissioner Wodtke stated that he would -oppose <br />the Motion but wanted to make a comment. He continued that <br />LD -1 can be multi -family as well as LD -2 - the single family <br />vs. multi -family question needs to be specifically addressed <br />and considered. <br />Mayor Nolan asked the Board to let the Town of <br />Indian River Shores have what they want in order for them to <br />promote their own destiny. <br />The Chairman called for the question. It was <br />voted on with a vote of 1 to 4, with Commissioner Fletcher <br />voting in favor. The Motion failed. <br />On Motion by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by <br />Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously agreed to extend <br />the meeting until 6:00 o'clock P.M. <br />Morris Blumberg, 3554 Ocean Drive, came before the <br />Board representing the Taxpayers Association of Indian River <br />County, and mentioned that there was considerable discussion <br />of viable agricultural land. He continued that emphasis is <br />being placed on density numbers by maximums and warned that <br />the maximums could become the actualities.
