PENDING LEGISLATION RE ANNEXATION <br />Commissioner Fletcher reported that he has information <br />re pending legislation regarding annexations which he would <br />like to give to Attorney Brandenburg to review and ask him <br />to report back and perhaps prepare a resolution offering our <br />feelings on this to the legislature. <br />CONFERENCE IN WASHINGTON, D.C., RE 1983 BUDGET PRIORITIES <br />Chairman Scurlock reported that Commissioner Wodtke had <br />supplied him with information about a legislative conference <br />in Washington, D.C., February 20-24 in regard to 1983 budget <br />priorities and particularly grant -in -aids to county <br />government. The cost for attendance is $125.00; <br />accommodations are around a $100.00 a night plus <br />transportation and some meals, probably totaling around <br />$500.00. <br />Commissioner Fletcher asked if we would just be going <br />to listen or whether we would have any input, and <br />Commissioner Wodtke stated that he would like to talk about <br />unemployment. <br />On Motion by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board by a 4 to 1 vote, Commissioner <br />Fletcher voting in opposition, approved out -of -County travel <br />for a representative of the Commission to attend the NACO <br />Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C., February 20-24, <br />1982, as described above. <br />PLAQUE FROM ASSOCIATION FOR RETARDED CITIZENS <br />Commissioner Bird reported that last week he attended <br />the annual meeting of the Association for Retarded Citizens <br />and accepted from them a plaque acknowledging the <br />contribution of the Board of County Commissioners in 1981. <br />He gave the plaque to the Board secretary to place on the <br />walls of the Commission offices. <br />The several bills and accounts against the County <br />having been audited were examined and found to be correct <br />FEB z 1 ��o 48 PASS -8 <br />982 <br />63 <br />
