INDIAN RIVER COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 82-12 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA TO BE KNOWN AS THE <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PARKS ORDINANCE PROVIDING <br />FOR; POLICY; DEFINITIONS; RULES AND REGULATIONS <br />PERMITS; PARK ADMINISTRATION; LITTER OFFICER; <br />SEVERABILITY; REPEAL OF CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; <br />INCLUSION IN THE CODE; AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the public need and demand for the use of <br />Indian River County park and recreational facilities has dramati- <br />cally increased; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County desires to provide effi- <br />cient and convenient park and recreational facilities while main- <br />taining a safe and healthy recreational environment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br />River County now finds and determines that it is essential to <br />implement uniform policies and procedures for the administration <br />of parks; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds that <br />this Ordinance and the restrictions imposed thereunder are <br />necessary to protect the health and welfare of the members of the <br />public using park and recreational facilities by designating cer- <br />tain areas for specific activities and prohibiting certain conduct <br />and activities within other areas. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />SECTION 1. TITLE <br />This Ordinance shall be known as the Indian River County <br />Parks Ordinance. <br />SECTION 2. POLICY <br />It is the general purpose and intent of this Ordinance <br />to establish uniform procedures for the administration of park and <br />recreational facilities in Indian River County; to establish a <br />_system of regulations and rules governing the activities within <br />the parks and recreational facilities; to declare certain activi- <br />ties as violations of rules and regulations; to provide for <br />criminal penalties for violation of the regulations; to allow <br />expulsion from a park or recreational facility for violation of a <br />-1- <br />
