asked if they have to pay for the permit or put up a deposit <br />to utilize the park. <br />Supervisor Cook felt that is up to the Board and noted <br />that as of now, they have no charges except $1.50 an hour <br />for a canoe. <br />Acting Administrator Greene reported that staff will <br />present a recommendation re fees to be considered along with <br />the ordinance. <br />On Motion by Commissioner Bird, seconded by <br />Commissioner Lyons, the Board unanimously authorized the <br />Attorney <br />and <br />staff <br />to <br />continue to work on <br />the Parks <br />Ordinance <br />and <br />when <br />they <br />feel they have it in <br />final form to <br />schedule and advertise a public hearing for final adoption. , <br />Commissioner Lyons noted that the Sheriff has said that <br />he cannot delegate the Police Department of Indian River <br />Shores to enforce the rules in the -County Park, and he felt <br />there must be some way to work this out so that the police <br />in Indian River Shores can enforce the rules not only in the <br />Indian River Shores portion of the park but also in the <br />County portion. He requested that Attorney Brandenburg look <br />Q. c y : s <br />into this, and Mr. MacAdams reported that Indian River <br />Shores Attorney Clem is looking into this also. <br />VANDALISM AT DONALD MAC DONALD PARK <br />Commissioner Bird informed the Board that some years <br />ago Indian River County entered into a lease agreement with <br />the Florida Forestry Service on land the County owns <br />fronting on the Sebastian River in the Roseland area. The <br />State needed a site for a fire tower, as well as for storing <br />equipment and housing some personnel, and in return, they <br />agreed to help the County develop a campground and park on <br />this 35 acres. The fire tower now has been taken down; the <br />Forestry Department, however, still has their buildings and <br />equipment there. They have been maintaining this park as a <br />MAR 17 1982 86 UCK 49 ?At E229 <br />
