APR <br />7 <br />1982 <br />box 49 PA453 <br />in-house. <br />He agreed that staff time is very critical and we <br />might need to consider costs and get a search firm. <br />Dr. Hardin believed that we are looking at some 20-33% <br />for a fee, plus expenses. He felt the figure he gave of a <br />cost of $14,200 was minimal and believed it would be more <br />like $20-25,000. Dr. Hardin stated that he would be willing <br />to work with a non-partisan committee or work as many hours <br />as the Board might desire. <br />Commissioner Bird felt, in talking about a non-partisan <br />committee, that we would proceed to advertise and generate <br />applicants after which a non-partisan committee would work <br />with staff in screening the mass of applications to a <br />workable volume and at that point the Commissioners would <br />bebome involved. He felt possibly representatives from <br />places such as the School Board Personnel Department and <br />Piper Aircraft -Personnel Department could be of help. <br />Dr. Hardin confirmed that is what he had in mind. He <br />noted that it is an employer's market and believed we will <br />get a lot of applicants. <br />Discussion continued re search firms, putting an ad in <br />the paper, guidelines to set out what the Board wants, etc., <br />and Commissioner.Lyons,expressed the feeling that we must be <br />flexiblo and keep the guidelines broad. <br />On Motion made by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by <br />Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously authorized an <br />advertisement indicating that the County is looking for a <br />County Administrator with a salary range based on a minimum <br />range of $35,000 to $40,000 annually. <br />Chairman Scurlock announced that today's agenda would <br />be carried over to next Wednesday, April 14th. <br />The several bills and accounts against the County <br />having been audited were examined and found to be correct <br />86 <br />I <br />
