APR 141982 ,49 u <br />Commissioner Lyons informed the Board that he had <br />Maintenance Supervisor Lynn Williams make a survey of the <br />Courthouse roof, and while an occasional pigeon may land on <br />the roof, there is no evidence of pigeons roosting or <br />nesting on the Courthouse roof. He expressed the belief <br />that we have taken care of any pigeon problem that ever <br />might have existed <br />Mr. Williams confirmed that he checked the Courthouse <br />roof at 9:00 A.M. and found no signs of any nests or pigeon <br />droppings- around the air conditioning inlets and no sign of <br />any way they could get in the duct work. The bird screens <br />were all in place, and he did not feel there is a problem <br />with pigeons.- <br />Dr. <br />igeons.Dr. Hardin reported that Judge Stikelether had called <br />and requested that Judge Smith's letter be made part of the <br />record because he is being severely criticized and wants <br />people to know that Judge Smith is as involved as he is. <br />Discussion ensued on the effort being made to have a <br />team of doctors from the University of Florida agree to come <br />to Vero Beach. <br />Dr. Hardin stated that he has called the University of <br />Florida on two occasions about sending down a team, and both <br />he and Maintenance Supervisor Williams were informed the <br />University is not in a position to send down such a team. <br />Commissioner Bird felt it was important that we write <br />the Judge that we have contacted the University and they <br />have declined to get involved, and we, therefore, suggest <br />going back to our original recommendation of a team of <br />doctors from the University of South Florida. He wished the <br />Judges to know that the Board is not holding up the process <br />and that we have explored the alternate they suggested. <br />Dr. Hardin reported that he had written the Judges in <br />this regard on April 8th.
