3. If the state land plannin; agency (Department of Veteran <br />and Community Affairs) transmits objections to the plan, <br />the County shall transmit a written reply within 4 weeks. <br />Following the letter or reply, the County shall take no <br />action to adopt the plan until 2 weeks have elapsed. <br />4. The County shall then hold two advertised public hearings <br />on the proposed plan. These hearings shall be held two <br />-weeks apart. At the option of the County Commission, <br />one of the public hearings may be held by the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission (the local planning agency). <br />RECO�24ENDATIONS : <br />Staff recommends that the County Commission: <br />1. Make findings of fact determining that the local planning <br />agency held a public hearing on the proposed plan with <br />due public notice as required by law. <br />2. FUTURE LAND USE fAAP <br />The Future Lcnd Used 1,Fap is an intregral part of the Land Use Element of <br />the Comprehensive Plan for Indian River County. Its purpose is to d3signote <br />existing and future land use patterns for the next twenty years. These activi- <br />ty patterns include residential uses; commercial uses, industriol uses• In. <br />stituticncl uses, open sroce•preservation craes, agricultural uses, and areas <br />with a mixture of uses. <br />Urban residenr:ol land use districts are shown on the map by four popula- <br />tion density c!ossificolions. Those are dosignotad as: <br />Low Density 1 - to 3 units -acre <br />Low Dansify 2 • to G units-ocre <br />Medium Density 1 - 9 units -core <br />Madwm Density 2 - to 110 units-ocre <br />Rural and Agricultural districts ore shown on the map by three population <br />densiy classifications. These are designated as: <br />Agricultural • 5 Acres - 1 unit <br />Rural • Residential 1 - 2.5 acres - 1 unit <br />Rural - Residential 2 -1 acre: unit <br />Three areas within the Caunty have developed a historical mixture of <br />residential, commercial cnd industrial fond uses. Those crcos hero bo in <br />clossdied as mixed-use districts.
