APR 141992 <br />WK 49 P <br />Dr. Hardin requested that this be made an emergency bid <br />situation where he could just call local firms and get a <br />minimum of three bids, and Commissioners Fletcher and Lyons <br />agreed to make this part of their Motion. <br />The Chairman called for the question. It was voted on <br />and carried unanimously. <br />Commissioner Lyons stated that he would like to change, <br />his position slightly in regard to the pigeon problem. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Lyons that the County <br />Maintenance Department be authorized to provide a scarecrow <br />to keep the pigeons off the roof as suggested by Judge <br />Smith. <br />Discussion followed as to changing the wording to <br />"apparatus" rather- than "scarecrow," and Commissioner <br />Fletcher agreed to second the Motion. <br />The Chairman called for the question. It was voted on <br />and defeated 2 to 3 with Commissioners Wodtke, Bird and <br />Chairman Scurlock voting in opposition. <br />Dr. Hardin reported that he has an additional request <br />from Judge Stikelether, which is that his assistant, Gina - <br />Edwards, be allotted $40.00 a month for mileage for driving <br />back and forth from his office to the City Hall, Community <br />Center, or wherever court is being held that day. Dr. <br />Hardin,stated that finding space to hold court has presented <br />quite a problem. The City has been very helpful, but we <br />have to pay $25.00 for the use of the Community Center. He <br />noted that Mrs. Edwards is entitled by State law to 20� per <br />mile, and she submitted a bill for 16 days which amounted to <br />a little over $4.00. <br />After further discussion, it was generally felt the <br />Board could not authorize such a payment on a lump sum <br />basis. <br />On Motion by Commissioner Wodtke, seconded by <br />Commissioner Lyons, the Board unanimously instructed that <br />32 <br />
